It’s 4 : 59 PM on day 627 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast, publish my Disability of the Day feature, exercise my right hand –I practiced picking up a knife for hours for now the only way I can do it is to drag it to the end of the table and grab it just as it’s about to fall – feed myself butternut and chicken curry for lunch and hang out with my sister and her friend.
Today practicing picking up a knife with my right hand I wondered how many people are grateful that they can do the things I struggle to do which is when A Month of Gratitude came to me – the idea behind A Month of Gratitude is to get everyone who reads this post to write down what they are grateful for every day for the next month thus making the world more grateful – I know what you’re probably thinking it’s easy for you to be grateful you have practice actually it’s not there are some days I open my Gratitude Journal and can’t think of anything to write because all I can see is everything that is wrong with my life but then I think things could be a lot worse I can see, I can hear, I can taste, I can touch, I can feel and come up with something to be grateful for in that moment.
