Day 661

With great power comes great responsibility doesn’t only apply to Peter Parker – that’s what I keep learning

It’s 6: 40 PM on day 661 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a boiled egg and All Bran Flakes   for breakfast, drink  Green Tea by myself,  prepare and  publish my Disability of the Day feature,  work, exercise - stretch my hamstrings so they don’t get shorter from lack of movement –  watch TV, feed myself  Stir Fry  for lunch and watch some more TV.

Today reading Holly Robinson Peete’s open letter to 50 Cent I was livid at 50  he tweeted i just saw your picture fool you look autistic  responding to an insult I echo Holly’s question to 50 what exactly does “autistic” look like people like me who are visibly different have enough challenges without having to deal with the world’s ignorance so I implore  everybody who has even a  semblance of influence in this world to think before they speak, tweet or Facebook because words have the power to  heal or to hurt.  Are you responsible with your influence?
