You can use humor to change someone’s perspective if only for a little while – that’s what I keep learning 
It’s 8 : 46 PM on day 671 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself Chapati and chicken curry for breakfast, drink grape juice by myself, continue reading Mr. Bishop and the Actress by Janet Mullany, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, work, feed myself rice and curry for dinner and brush my teeth once more.
This morning my mother got deservedly irritated with me after hours of hearing me talk she said something along the lines of keep quiet to which I said cheerfully you should be grateful there are some parents who pray for their child to just say one word imagine if I couldn’t walk and talk with that both of us burst out laughing. Do you poke fun at yourself to make someone see something differently?
