The only thing that can limit us is the way we choose to see things– that’s what I keep learning 
It’s 2 : 08 PM on day 717 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, work, feed myself Pasta for brunch, drink coffee by myself, watch TV and work some more.
Yesterday marking the start of Paralympics 2012 this morning I couldn’t help wondering where the athletes would have ended up if they thought to themselves I’m disabled I can’t do anything I suspect their thoughts would have become a self-fulfilling prophecy which is true for all of us if you think you can’t, you won’t, if you think you can, you will. Good luck to the South African Paralympic team thank you for believing in yourselves and inspiring others to do the same.

I believe your right about the athletes, Nisha. If they hadn’t been able to tap into their inner strength and been able to move past their disability, there is no telling where they would be in life right now. I also believe that it depends on the support system they have in place too. If they have people who pity and do everything for them, they might not have had the drive to succeed.
I so wish we could watch the Paralympics here in the U.S., but we are only going to get about 5.5 hours of coverage total and it won’t air until the games are over. I wanted to see Oscar Pistorius run and learn about more athletes. This is the first games that I’ve ever really paid attention to and I’m pretty sure it’s because disability never affected my life until my son was born.
Yes, one’s support system is important but if you’re walking around with a chip on your shoulder it won’t matter how much support. I too wish there was more television coverage of the Paralympics it’s sad that the television coverage of the Paralympics pales in comparison to the television coverage of the Olympics
