We only appreciate certain things once we’ve lost them– that’s what I keep learning 
It’s 1 : 25 PM on day 748 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast, drink water by myself, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, spend time with family and friends and listen to music.
Day 2 of not being allowed to talk because I’m hoarse I have a newfound respect for people who live with speech impediments not being able to walk makes you feel like your trapped in your own body not being able to talk (or in my case not being allowed to talk) makes you feel excluded people all around you are talking and you’re just sitting there wanting to say so much but you can’t. Do you only appreciate things when you lose them?
