Cerebral Palsy makes the simplest things complicated– that’s what I keep learning
It’s 5 : 26 PM on day 899 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to help my brother with his project, stretch my hamstrings, brush my teeth, read Exodus 19, pray, publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, feed myself a salad sandwich for breakfast, take off my dirty t-shirt and put a clean t-shirt on, watched TV and feed myself rice and curry for lunch.
Late last night I needed to go to the bathroom and I found myself debating whether to hold it in or ask my mother to take me to the bathroom that’s the thing about having Cerebral Palsy you have to think about things that are non-issues for most people. Do you appreciate the freedoms that come with being able-bodied?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
